The Ecologies in the Collective blog was set up to sustain communication between the two groups of ASN students who were undertaking residencies at the John David Mooney Foundation. The blog became the linking element between Chicago and Edinburgh. Ideas and information were posted to explore thoughts and concepts and to record actions and events. In the case of the first group, the blog became the theme of the work; its content was broken down and analysed and its existence questioned. Investigations into concepts of space within the blog and gallery space informed the development of the piece Re-scale.
